I'm not familiar with the ValAir. Does it have a drain valve for the condensate that builds up in the tank over time? If the tank is full of water it will cycle more often.
I don't recall meeting Jerry at a FEGA convention, although I might have. I do remember the muzzleloaders he built. As a builder of muzzleloaders myself for a while, I could appreciate what it took to produce the masterpieces I saw. Engraving is just one of the skills required to build rifles...
I liked McKenzie's wooden handles also. I made several out of rosewood with brass ends I turned on my lathe. They are about 3/4" diameter and 4 1/2" long and very comfortable to hold. They had a comforting woody sound when struck unlike metal on metal.
A few years ago I bought a set of Zeiss "dentist loupes" figuring I could engrave barrels and other large objects instead of trying to fit them under my microscope. I found out pretty fast that I shouldn't have gotten them in 6 power. It was impossible to stay focused because of the narrow depth...
Anyone know if this one month change is permanent? Judy & I celebrate our anniversary in Key West the end of February (29th) so, once again, I won't be there.
The sick horses certainly applies here; no boats though. I've always loved studying English History. Maybe "foundering" slipped out of my subconscious. I hope it didn't bring up any unpleasant events in your racing past, John.
For once in my life I didn't eat til I foundered, felt great, was able to sleep it off. But somehow it felt like I disgraced an American tradition. So next year or maybe this Christmas, I will not hesitate to reload the plate. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving .
