Oh I see. The benefit of using a trailer hitch is to have a shaft to mount the graver (after Turning/drilling) so it’s a one piece solid holder. Makes sense. Thanks. I found some brass/SS spheres with a threaded hole in different sizes so wondering if it’s easier to modify compared to a hitch...
What a great idea! I would love to make one for myself if I can figure out how/what... I believe extra weight/mass would help wiggle it better. Thanks for sharing. Any suggestions on what would I need to make this?
So far I have been using it for a few days and like it- it was recommended by someone on a Facebook engraving group so I tried it. Here is a link: Aluminium Alloy Ergonomic Computer Desk Arm Support Wrist Rest Arm Rest. Tuned Both Horizontal and Vertical Direction SY-ACC65087...
Build a sound deadening box for my Gravermeister. Using the NIOSH sound app on my iPhone - it appears that the box reduced the sound by half (about 10 dB - from 73 to 63 on the nonlinear dB scale) - hopefully it will also remove the stinky smell of ATF from my workspace. Every little things help!
After servicing the vanes mine has been running the 915 handpiece warm but not super hot as earlier. I am building a sound proof box with 2 muffin fans for intake/exhaust to see if it cuts down the sound and removes the nasty smell of dexron 3 ATF. I did notice little oil outside the left rotary...
Mine had less than 100 hours of use on it When I got it and the carbon vanes look like new - the oil I am using is dexron III very stinky- someone in this forum said 10W non detergent so may be I should try that. I don’t see any adjustments for oil use so may be after some regular use the...
Yes - proper ventilation is a must to avoid overheating- I am researching different air compressor box designs online but like John’s idea of a crate lifted up from the bottom. Fortunately the Gravermeister is small enough for building an enclosure around it using off the shelf crates/boxes. If...
Mine is plugged into an extension cord with foot on/off switch and I was wondering what to do for the stroke lever and oil canister (mine seems to use up a lot of oil since I reassembled everything). Liked the brass rod idea - thx. I am also thinking of adding a temp sensor with lcd display.
