Question: How can I keep my new work space more quiet.

Hi Patek, There are sound barriers and sound absorption products. The carpet is sound absorption. Depending on your budget, you might research using Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) as a sound barrier. It is heavy and dense and can be hung with staples, this is a very fast and temporary solution. You...

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

Template is on the table and the diamond block is 1/2 inch higher. That is my understanding. Please let me know if that is incorrect.

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

Hum, interesting. I already ordered from Diamond Tech, but i will keep this in mind. They told me their smaller disk will fit onto my grinder perfectly. Thank you for chiming in!

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

I ordered another disk from the same manufacturer as the grinder, and it should work. I will still try to have the other disk drilled too. I'd love to have a few extra disks for both metal and glass work. I'll post again when i have this worked out. Thank you for your time.

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

It looks like the manufacturer makes another diamond pad that might work. I'll give it a try. It isn't as wide as the new one, but that may benefit me due to space on the grinder as i need room for the templates. These diamond pads are very useful in my glass work if they don't work for metal...

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

I got the 260 disk from Lindsay. Attached/below is my grinder. The grinder disk hole is 2 cm and the new disk is 1 cm. The new disk slides over the center rod fine, but still too much play. Maybe some of you clever minds can help me make this work. I either need to make the new 260 disk...

Thank you! I hope i can make this work. I have Lindsay's diamond blocks too, but i thought this unit seemed pretty close to a hone.

It is a removal strainer. There can be another diamond bit attached above for glass work with a water system.

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

Yes, I always use water when grinding glass. I need to keep it cool. I have a wet belt sander too, and mainly use it. This smaller unit sits around.

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

Thanks! I decided to order Lindsay's 260 grit pad and see if I can make it fit. For $32 it seems worth a try and worse case someday maybe i'll have a real hone for my pad. Any thoughts on how to get the height exact between the template and the pad?

Flat Disk Grinder - Glass to Carbalt?

Hi - I have a flat disk grinder for glass work. It is variable speed. The grit is 360. Does anyone see any issues before i try to use it to sharpen a graver? If not, I'm also trying to figure out how to get the graver to the correct height - I'm using the Lindsay sharpening system -...
