    Question: Cheaper power hones available?

And truly the Lindsay system is the best "Bang for the Buck" as some have stated imo. Sharpening by hand is therapy for me.......and I can't even engrave.......just cut metal....

    Question: Cheaper power hones available?

And I'm not using a Cheap power hone. I have the Tom White version - that was a little less than 400.00 when I bought it. Now their a good bit more than that. I also have a Sterling faceting machine. That will sharpen gravers every bit as well as the power hone - albeit cost a couple grand and I...

    Question: Cheaper power hones available?

Cheap is cheap. But there's a big difference between 150.00 and 1500.00. Same with micro-motors....I've run a cheap Chinese version for the last 4 yrs. Finally gave out. Will buy another off ebay for 160.00 or so. And run several more yrs. Or I could but a 750.00 Foredom. Nope....ran a Foredom...

    Question: Cheaper power hones available?

Buy a Cheap Chinese $150.00 faceting machine off Ebay. Rigg up some shims.....maybe....or cut some thin sections from a plastic cutting board to get the right height. Most of the machines run 1/2" arbors, so any backing plate with a disc on it should run.

Problems setting up Lindsay Bench Jewel Airgraver

Shake the handpiece str8 down to get it started. Then increase the idle so it doesn't stop or give it some gas until it runs like it's supposed to. And clean it. Q-tips and denatured alcohol.

    scope angle

Question: What scope angle is acceptable for engraving. Str8 up & down hurts my neck. Tried many different seating positions - still no go. Been jewelerin under a scope for many years, no neck problems with my scope set-up for setting stones. Can you engrave accurately with your scope at an...

Put some grease on the bearings, post and post holder.......put the no namer back in it's donut......took my free hand off the vise and put it on the table. Got the vise centered up under the scope.....and man it was nice. And all I can do right now is cut lines. Shoulda stayed with it...

    Drill press base

Just put my old no name vise on a grs micro-block rubber donut. Now I can keep my palm on the vise and turn the table with the edge of my hand. Woo-Hoo! Not a turntable; but then again, I've got less than 150.00 in it.
