Need a source for micro fine burrs

https://highspeedengraving.com/product/1-16-round-carbide-bur/ Don't be misled by how they assign part numbers. This is a .3mm burr. I've bought from them recently and had no complaints

    FEGA Annual Convention question

CJ, I went last year, but didn't stay at Westgate. There was a FEGA social event at a suite in one of the top floors. When I went to go to it, I couldn't get the elevator to go to that floor. I returned to the ground level and asked a hotel employee about it. He asked what room I was staying...

    another layout option

Monk, Can you explain "takes inkjet very nicely" ? Are you burnishing an inkjet transfer? After the Dykem has dried? I would like to know more if you would explain further. Thanks, Keith

    Inlay on a Kershaw Leek

I've never had any problem with the screws. They are assembled with loctite, so if you're having trouble, a little bit of heat will help free that up

    Inlay on a Kershaw Leek

Yes, I disassembled the knife. Leeks are notorious for being hard. This comes from work hardening from the manufacturers process. I own a machine shop, so I am fortunate to have access to a heat treat oven. The scales can be annealed by heating to 1550-1650 deg F. After reaching...

    Inlay on a Kershaw Leek

Channel cat. But you know, the size of the fish grows with every telling of the story! My wife was pretty accommodating when I asked her to help pose the fish and spread out the tail fins for pics.

    Inlay on a Kershaw Leek

This is my most recent practice on a Kershaw Leek. I look at others work and see shading in their bulino. Mine looked like polka dots. So I went to smaller dots and more of them, but really struggled to get good contrast. This pic is the result of dozens of tries, trying to get something...

Announcement: All Pledge Membership auto-renew subscriptions cancelled

Sam, I hate to hear you have problems through no fault of your own. I will put a reminder in my calendar right now to keep up on my pledge membership. I truly enjoy what I get out of this forum as I am much more of a consumer of this knowledge than a contributor. Keep up the good work.

    Pancho Villa

I was in San Antonio this weekend and visited the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. Just thought I'd share an interesting find. This is a Winchester 1866 caliber 44 belonging to Pancho Villa's notorious female colonel "La Concha" pancho was a Mexican revolutionary general and based off of a quick...

    Engraving Class / Teacher Recommendations

I've taken two classes with Ray Cover as well, and can't wait to take another class with him. He is moving to the Branson area and hasn't posted a 2020 schedule yet. I live near Kansas City, so he is pretty close to me. I went to Texas engraving school in Brookshire, TX and was very pleased...

Critique Request First real project - Tell me what you think

Hey, thanks for all the replies. Leland & Jonathon - the hinge was something I wanted to challenge myself to achieve. I built two small dies to form the hinge (takes two steps to form each roll, and each half of the hinge had to be formed in three locations). sawed everything out, engraved...
