I don't know if anyone has tried this before, so maybe it's not new...but it's something I discovered today. I was having a heck of a time getting a good laser print on parchment paper to transfer using the damar varnish mixture. So I tried spraying a light coat of hairspray on the parchment...
Bummer....I bought a lindsay template jig that came today, but it's takes a graver with a rectangle shaft and my graver has a round shaft so it won't fit.
On another thread that I couldn't find someone suggested after looking at the first photo that I should try and not cut so deep. The second photo is my attempt at not cutting as deep and getting more delicate lines. Thanks for all your great info. You guys are amazing!
Thank you. I have a graver max g8. Only have one 90 degree graver for right now. Looking to eventually embellish my jewelry making (cuff bracelets) as well as small items such as zippo lighters with scroll work and lettering. I'm a former sign painter so I'm pretty comfortable with drawing...
Hi... I'm a beginner and have just one 90 degree graver. Can anyone tell me which template I should get for sharpening and where to purchase it? Thanks
Hi... using a square 90 also. I think part of my trouble with scrolls is that under the microscope the scroll moves out of the viewing area before I can finish it, so I end up having to stop and start it a lot rather than one sweeping cut. Don't know what to do about that. Thank you
