    I also use Renaissance wax. For a permanent coating, Brownell's clear Alumahyde could work.

    The Mike Dubber holding fixtures that are sold by GRS are outstanding. Especially the improved barrel fixture. I have both the early version and the latest version of the barrel fixture. The latter is a magnificent tool.
