    Lindsay border scribe

Dani, Are you thinking of Alexandre Sidorov? He has a set of dividers that GRS produces for him. The original models were a black finish and he used carbide burs that were then ground and shaped. The new ones are a stainless finish and the replaceable carbide tips are now made specifically for...

    Graver smith always running

The GRS systems have a bleed valve in the pedal. It lets air out constantly; just how they're designed. If it has gotten worse, the set screw has probably loosened and the rubber valve has slipped. Checkout their repair video. GRS Foot Throttle Reset

Question: Cast iron or ceramic lap? Diamond Spray or dry Powder? How many Variations needed?

To add a third option, there is a polishing film that you can use. Tira Mitchell (engraver.com) sells a polishing film that comes in disks and mounts onto aluminum wheels that fit power hones. I haven't used it yet; my work just ordered a set ($50). I have used the Mirror-Grave film from Steve...

    Question: Material suppliers in USA

Rio Grande sells a lot of silver mill products (wire, sheet, tubing, etc.) You can try there. They are probably the easiest place to order from if you aren't a jeweler or have a business tax ID number.

    Hoping for Inlay Tips

Check out Douglas Pryor. He raises and sculpts a lot of copper plate. In this video of a raised rose, he heats up the plate with a large torch but someone in the background says they use cans of MAPP gas. He quenches the plate in baking soda water (think this is just doing double duty), pickles...

Need information on buying Lindsay benchjewel

What kind of stone setting are you wanting to do? That will determine what kinds of gravers you need in terms of material and shape. You'll need some type of rotary setup for stone setting also. Steve sells a bench jewel rotary tool that looks like it would work but I know nothing about it. I'm...

Jeff Parke is teaching in Arizona. I think he's located in Mesa. He's active on Instagram if you want to see his work.

    argentium and sterling silver

Argentium silver is an alloy containing germanium which makes the silver more tarnish resistant. It will age and patina differently than sterling. As a jeweler, I can also tell you that different mills alloy sterling silver differently and there is a variation in the color of the patina from...

    Draw File

I think 'draw filing' if more a technique and not a specific type of file. Brownells might have sold one that was best for that technique. From what I just googled, looks like it's a fine single cut mill or flat file (not sure what the difference is between the two)...

    does anybody know

Mr. Kanagawa's gravers where the inspiration for Alexander's cobra engraver. He said so in one of his Instagram posts. He also posted a series of 3 short clips where he shows one being made. He takes a V-graver and grinds it to shape. https://www.instagram.com/p/CK3h6A3ld1N/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=...

    Microscope camera question

Leica's S9D is trinocular. Tira Mitchell sells it (https://www.engraver.com/leica-s9d-trinocular-microscope/) and she could probably answer any questions that you have.
