Greetings Everyone,

i am fairly new to all of this, so i hope you can bare with me for a while.

I am looking to do only flat work, so i do not necessarily need a engravers ball. I have seen a "vise" which rotates horizontally only. Does anyone know the name of this tool?

The tool can be seen in use in this video:

I have forwarded the video to a point where the tool is visible.

Help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

might be homemade, my guess. i'd simply call it a mini turntable

Thanks, I suspected that it might be mad in-house too. It looks really convenient, as the turning wheel is at the top.

Any suggestions as for a mini turntable, preferably made out of metal? I am looking to mount the “head”-part of a hand vise on something that turns, as seen here:

Just can't find anything small enough...

At 4:14 you can see a set of part numbers, so I doubt if it is homemade. But to make one, I would use a threaded live center that fits a tailstock of a lathe and a 4 jaw machinist mini chuck. You can buy 2MT sockets and use it for a base to put it all together. Penn State Industries has a threaded live center for a reasonable price. https://www.pennstateind.com/store/LTCA18.html

I think the numbers are for the clamp that is specialy made for the part being engraved. With different parts having its own number and clamps.

Maybe the vise is also their own making. It is a watchmaking company after all.
