Nimschke Engraved?

I recently acquired a Colt SAA shipped to J.P. Moore, New York, NY on November 18, 1876. The Colt is engraved, nickeled with pearl grips. Based on my research the engraving is very similar to 3 other Nimschke engraved Colts shipped to Moore. Is there anyone on this forum that can help verify if my Colt went to Nimschke's shop. I tried to post pictures but I keep getting a notice that the pictures are too large to post even though I have reduced them to their lowest setting. If I have an email address I could forward pictures to the appropriate individual. Thanks for the help.

Everyone posts photos routinely. Once you get that sorted out you'll get some comments. Without pics I'm afraid you're not going to get as much feedback as you could.

This Colt has seen some use and the engraving shows wear. Unfortunately, the barrel has been cut to 5 inches from the original 7 1/2 inches sometimes in its past and the front sight has been soft soldered on. Thanks for any input that can be provided.

If you go to the site suggested by Roger Bleile suggested and click the letter N you will find some examples of Nimschke's work. Note that his scrolls are tighter and not drawn out like the examples on these Colts. Two suggestions, do an image search of engraved Colts, and also go to a good library and find some books on engraved Colts. It is possible that these guns have been photographed before and may appear in some other source.
