The guy that ordered the skull pendant from me a while back, ordered 2 more for his boys. So...oooops I did again, hahaha.
The other one is a birthday present for a soon to be 16 year old girl. Done in titanium. The stippling changes from darker than the titanium to lighter than it. And....it...
Here is the latest silver dogtag I did. This was done in silver, even though I advised against it. Sadly, this will probably not hold up long, if he doesn't take care of it.
If I would have had my way, I would have gone for either stainless or titanium for this, but he insisted on silver...
Here are some of my recent efforts.
The JJ pendants are (again with the)304 stainless, hahaha.
A little flarecut pendant in...you guessed it...304.
Monogram for my wife's carp rod in aluminium(didn't have large enough steel or brass to make the end cap out of, and she needed it).
Feel free to...
First time doing some gold inlay, as for me, gold is a bit expensive to just start messing around with. Figured I had to give it a go though, as I want to learn all aspects of engraving. Figured I would do something a little bit different than scrollwork and opted for a lovers pendant instead...
Finished this 304 stainless pendant today. This was inspired by the devil card used in tarot. So it has nothing to do with anything demonic, hahaha.
Tried something new with the background, but I feel the pattern could have been much smaller(I was affraid it would be too busy). It was an...
Just some of the stuff I have been working on the last few weeks. Did some handpushing in copper and had the chance to do a bit of work on some cigarcutters for an English publishing house. I have done 3 of those for now in some "ok" stainless steel. And did a little "flarecut" 304 stainless...
Did this one a few weeks back. Drawn onto the pendant, which did cause a few mistakes in the backbones. But...it's all a learning curve, hahaha.
I had a blast cutting this one though. It is a very nice style to cut quickly.

Just finished working on this little silver pendant. I did the shading on the fly to see would be the result if I shaded "unplanned". Allthough I am not overly happy with the endresult, I am not unhappy either...hahaha.
Still need to ink it properly, but you get the idea.
Feel free to rip it...
Been working on this plate for far too long now, so I'm trying to get this finished without any distractions. The finished plate will show the country I am from, the city I was born and the city I am living in now.
Center stage will be getting a dutch windmill...so loads to do still, hahaha

I was just wondering if anyone who has done some Buck 110's or Buck 112's know if the steel of the release mechanism is engraveable?
I am currently working on a steel plate, which has been in and out the vise too many times, so I will try and finish all the scrolls on that first, but I want to...
Had the honour of doing this pendant for a client of mine. He lost his cat last december and asked me to make him a pendant with a portrait of his cat. I agreed to do it at cost, but if it failed...it would be on me. So I made this silver and brass sandwich and got to it. Engraved both sides and...
Been working on a "sample-plate" for the last few days, on which I will try to display some different styles and techniques. With my limited experience, this will be a bit of a challenge. For now I managed to scribble in most of the linework and just finished the first "block" of flare cutting...
Ever since I started "engraving", my youngest son started bugging me for a necklace. Everytime I am practicing or doing a plate, he walks in and asks if it's his. He will snatch finished and unfinished plates from me, starts running and will yell: "mineeeeee...all mine!".
So...last week I...
Finally finished up the little Buck 325 I got for Christmas from my lovely wife. The stainless steel was surprisingly easy to cut, allthough I had lots of "graverpoint chipping" whilst trying to cut the outlines. Used a 116 Lindsay carbalt...switched to a HSS version to cut the outlines after...
I started this plate a little before and finished a little after, 1 year since I started engraving. First time doing some copper inlay. Should have centered the design a little better, but I was planning on some lettering on top. Looked off though, but already started cutting. Lesson...
Designed this for the Buck 325 I got for Christmas from my wife. Started the design from a picture I took of the knife after taking it apart to make a new spine out of brass for it. The later realised I had reassembled it wrong with the blind screw on the wrong side. This means I can't cut this...
I know it's right after Christmas, but I was just wondering if the Café ever did a secret Santa type of thing. I think it could be lots of fun and could be very inspiring.
I do realise there are huge differences in skill-level and such, but that could be worked around by setting up groups. In...
Because of timezones it may be a bit premature or late....but I hope you all have an awesome 2022 with lots of love, happiness and many beautiful metal curls.

So, I've working on my wife's zippo the past days and this is how it ended up looking. This is the first side, but I will be engraving all sides.
There are some parts I am really happy with, some parts that could have used a bit more thought. I never felt rushed, but still ended up getting all...
