Hello Folks,
The class schedule for 2025 engraving classes was finalized today and I wanted to let interested parties know.
This is a beginning level class in ornamental engraving. Let me know if you have any questions.
Location: Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Carlsbad, California (north San Diego County)
Dates: 2 - 5-day sessions, Feb. 24-28, M-F, 8am-4pm (35 hours instruction and lab)
Sept. 22-26, M-F, 8am-4pm (35 hours instruction and lab)
1 - 10-day session, July 14-25, M-F, 4pm-7:30pm (35 hours instruction and lab)
The 10-day session is probably best for current GIA students, and local folks or those within commuting distance, held in the afternoon to early evening. Same content and instruction hours, just spread over two weeks.
For more information - www.gia.edu
click on the "Alumni" tab and choose "Continuing Education"
scroll down to "Ways to Learn" and choose "In-Person"
courses are listed chronologically, so scroll down and you will eventually see the courses
Thank you,
Doug

Bump

A few seats left for the one-week class starting Feb. 24 in Southern California.

If you're on the fence, I'd love to see you take the leap and invest in yourself.

From ergonomics at the bench and setting up and using a microscope and positioning vise, to pattern transfer, layout, scrolls, shading, pattern development, borders, script and Roman lettering. Precision graver sharpening and tons of practice cutting various styles and designs. You'll leave with the confidence to be able to continue after the course ends.

Thank you,
Doug
