Buckle with moths

HI, well here is a new buckle.It was shot flat for clarity and will be bent with a very large arbor press at a later date. It is made from 1/2 hard Navel brass 1/8 thick and has 2 Moths in silver applied sitting on silver pins that pass through the buckle and are silver soldered at the pins on the back.

Of course any comments or criticism are more than welcome.

I like it! How did you harvest the background and how did you finish it?

HI, I cut the background with flats to the depth of the original engraving of the flowers,and that was cut with a 45-90 square with a 15 degree parallel heel. The texture of the background was done with a single sharp point. See Sams tips page that's where I found it. I am not sure if I covered "finish" yet if you mean a coating or oil it has none.

I like it. But the end of the scrolls or buds look like they need a little shading to give them some depth.
