Doe's anyone have suggestions of where to find a good compass to to scribe circles? All the ones I'm finding are massive; I think they're for machine shops.

3” starrett dividers are the ticket, found at all major retailers. You can grind down the tips to a microscopic point and then burnish the ends to give it the right feel.

the 2" Starretts are what you really want, but they stopped making them years ago. good ones go for $75-$100, if you can find 'em.
