Hi there. I have a Clark air silent compressor, model no shhhair 50/24

There’s air escaping from this part, the air outlet filter. Grateful for any advice. The bottom of it looks a bit corroded, should it be replaced? Thanks.

Hello Helen,
Often the plastic parts dry out and get a hard to-see crack.
Replace the bowl to avoid over running the compressor.
I had the same thing with my Sil Aire.
Hi John, Thanks for your reply. I'll do that.

The underside is a twisting valve/knob. (Atleast it is on my sil-air) To let the moisture out. Before replacing try and see if you can twist the bottom part. Then see if you feel air moving out. If you do twist in other direction. And feel again, if you still feel air. It is broken or there is dirt preventing it from sealing shut.

Thanks Sinterklaas, I'm giving that a try just now. I've just phoned Clark and they have quoted £128 for a new one which sounds like such a lot! Would anyone happen to have a link to something cheaper? Many thanks.

Also, can I ask, how often do you replace the oil? Is it very important? I don't use it every day or for prolonged periods. The oil has been in for around 18 months.
