I mentioned engraving some goblets in another post. I thought I'd post a pic of the simple jig I made to help in holding them. This was first a barrel jig. I altered it to add the cup insert that came with our CNC engraving machine. The inserts can be made fairly easily or maybe find some old one from a New Hermes unit on eBay. Works like a champ aside from a bit of vibration. Not enough to make me go through the effort to mill one in steel.

Hi Lane,
I made something similar for some cups I did, and I lined the cups with plastic and filled them with sand to dampen the vibration. Seemed to help a lot.

Now that you mention it Todd, it might be useful to keep some type of filler material in the shop for that purpose. I was thinking of maybe lining the cup with cling film and adding modeling clay. Easily removable and reusable. Thanks!
