especially liked the lady. how much yer ball vise weigh ? 150 pounds or so ? in what manner did you hold these parts ?

@ JJ - yah i think i need to double time on the scrolls, hehe. thnks!

@ Carlos - i just use the regular high speed steel, the material is soft so no problem with cutting by HC.

@ Dogcather - thanks

@ monk - my home made vice is around 20 kgs (40 lbs). i made it incase of heavy use, like this one. so no need for me to have additional vice, thats my all around vice =)

(as attached photo- i made a jig to hold the parts. the jig is suitable to all parts, from cover, manifold and carb dome)

cool lookin setup. hey, if it works, and doesn't require a 2nd mortgage on the house, that's good.

Jay,I would recommend Ron Smith book Advanced Drawing of Scrolls it will be very helpful.You can get it from GRS, I like that vice.:thumbsup: J.J.

(ps: one of my friend told me over a 5 bottles of beer, maybe my next project would be a ship's engine hehehe) ..... hmmmm....and why not! maybe i should visit the pier one of these days =)
