I'm interested in comments on my latest experiment which is a circular cut of "fine English scroll" but distorted and unfurling under imaginary rotation. (Image attached).
My execution is mediocre with innumerable errors, but the distortion of the scrollwork is deliberate ( as I indicated, execution could be better). I think the idea is worthwhile with refinement, although not applicable to rectangular spaces. Feedback appreciated.
Scrollwork I think should be about 10-25% smaller. ( mild steel disc about 3 1/4" diam.)

I agree that pursuing it would be worthwhile. My limited understanding of English scroll was that it was taken as a replica of the fiddle head fern. Unraveling could be done from any angle but may be better with different size leaves and also coming off like sun rays. My two cents which these days can be less than a cent with inflation. Keep it coming

looks interesting to me. i used to do spines in a distinct oval shape. anyone that got such from me was more than happy. i'm well aware that most here would stone me for that. that's ok. i like what i like, and if a recipient likes it, who the h cares ?? what you show here may be a total violation. who cares ? it looks good anyway.

Very interesting Crossbolt, you should definitely pursue this alternative design. I guess it takes a bit more imagination to calculate destruction which draws the eye in for further understanding… it is enjoyable view.
