Hey Everybody

I have a client with a gkock 43x that wants the slide engraved…Has anyone cut this model and if so how was it to cut? Should I run Or give it a go? Also it says it has a nDLC finish. Not sure what that means or how best to remove it. Advice welcome!

Thanks
Jesse Harrington

I have always heard once someone tries to engrave a Glock, they never do it again. The metal is Hard hard hard. Could it be done? Yes some have had success. But I hope you like sharpening gravers! Also NDLC stands for nitride diamond like coating, If that helps with the decision. Did I mention the metal is hard?

The nDLC finish described on the Glock website:

GLOCK's nDLC provides tougher, more durable protection than previously used finish.

So what was almost engraving on a crazy hard metal seems to even harder to engrave. I think Mike 576 mentioned the metal was hard. Its hard.

I have seen Glock slides hand engraved, but they were not factory slides.
After market slides are available and I would suggest you consult with your customer and have him purchase one of the after market slides for you to engrave.
