Critique Request Gold match 2 (fire element)

Took long enough and happy with design atleast. Finely sanded the sides and will be working on my first gun after a lot of practice and time. Took the Kimber name off so I didn’t have an interruption in flow.

This is the first project in a list of scroll styles that I’ll attach to each element: fire, earth, water, air.
Fire for firearm (get it?).

I will cut this to the stainless steel practice plate and likely have it done by the end of the year and once the side is cut can find the curves I like for the rest of the gun.

Give me any thoughts, feelings, or emotional outbursts as you please. I got my start just reading the cafe and to this day haven’t seen anyone else’s engraving in person so I’m still just winging it, just with more tools, failures, and a few moments of epiphanies.

Always looking to improve, but am satisfied with the improvements thus far. Have had a slow year with actual bench time because of life etc, but finally able to spend some dedicated time towards the end goal of doing what I love for a living. Any critique or advice is always appreciated. (Second photo to show the actual cutting section because if it was cut to the inside would be too thin). Thank you for looking.

Made some design updates since then and finally got a break to get going on the first gun project. Wish I was able to make it to fega this year but glad to see a resurgence after the pandemic. Currently at the background removal and stippling part but will complete this one panel by panel as it’s a learn as you go project. Thank you for all the insights on the cafe, it really is invaluable to get people connected. As always, thanks (and the puppy is starting to fill his own shoes so less of a distraction when cutting, thank god)
