Hello all my name is Eric sotelo I'm a multicraftsman of sorts that does a lot of carving on mostly bone and wood with some ivory and meerschaum here and there and have even made a few pieces of jewelry for my self and a couple others using lost wax method but what I'm really trying to get into is engraving and i just started working as a Jewlers apprentice. A short while back I had aquired a full set of pneumatic engraving equipment and have basically been self teaching myself and kind of fooling around with it when I have the time. the loupe pictured was my second attempt at engraving followed by my third attempt which was a hobo nickel from an 05 Jefferson buffalo nickel the cross and heart were the 4th attempt on a Mercury dime that had been faced and the last couple pics are of the final attempt so far on a brass practice plate. I just found this forum and wanted to introduce myself so hello again and if anyone has any pointers I'm all ears

welcome to the forum. slow down a bit. spend a bit of time here, you'll learn a lot. the greatest tool in your shop is the pencil. this simple tool should be the foundation of all you do in the future. good luck to you and your efforts.
I appreciate it
