Your problem from what I can see from the photos is you have an older switching microscope. These were designed for taking still photos. The switch brings the camera into play and the other eyepiece is used to get the work into view and focused and the photo is then taken. It can then be switched back to biooc mode.

In microscopes, look for simultaneous focus/focal. Different manufactures have different names for it. In these scopes all three oculars work at the same time and were designed for video real time.

I fell into this trap also.

just for folks Info here is the scope and the corresponding eyepieces which I had to source separately funnily. It is really great as an engravers scope... just don't use it as a trinocular for pics or videos. it is beautiful to look through and that's coming from someone who owns a Leica a60. I've not spent tonnes of hours behind it but it's so crystal clear and nice. tonnes of zoom too

on another note... anyone thinking of going with a Leica S9D will find the chap from LMSCOPE very helpful to talk to. he sent me tonnes of links regarding all the adapters you can get from them to mount all kinds of modern dslr and mirrorless cameras. Screenshot_20260112_083635_Chrome.jpg
