Does anyone do Old English text using a wriggle cut for the broad strokes? My problem is how do people do the curved cuts as is used in the letter "C"? I have seen this used on old cups and trophies. It looks simple, but the curved cuts seem to be a challenge.

A page from „Winter‘s school of engraving“. Here the „C“ has a coarse wriggling cut at the outer rim, a fine (graver hold steeply) wriggling cut at the middle, and a shading cut (possibly done as closeline) at the inside. Hope that helps…
