Running wheat/leaf borders

Here are some examples of the running wheat/leaf borders - the one on the diamond dagger was done by Lynton McKenzie. The bowie guard was hot blued with the engraving stripped with phosphoric acid to give it the "French gray" color. The mini bowie guard is .070 wide. McKenzie has a great demonstration of the running border in his engraving tapes - I have watched it many many times and still I am amazed at his control, he was a master when it came to this border. Fred: Thanks for posting the examples of wheat borders. I don't have Lynton's tapes, but I've had the opportunity to view portions of them a couple of times, and I agree that he had supreme graver control. I like his leaf version on the diamond dagger.

That mini is awesome! / ~Sam
