This just might be something a new engraver might be interested in. So many of engravings tool and equipment are very expensive and probably deter many a young person from diving into engraving. This item may be of some help.

As an hobby engraver who don`t have a ton of money to spend, I did buy a simular one as pictured from aliexpress some years ago. With some modifications the machine works well with Lindsay templates. The machine is strong and have speed regulator and you can run it in reverse. You can also get cheap diamond flat discs with different grits on the same website. About 95$ for the machine. And yes, I know that some of you don`t like chinese knockoffs :)

If I didn't already own a honing machine I'd jump on this. Several years ago I paid some $350 for one. Today the cost of a honing machine is simply prohibitive. The cost of setting up a good engraving bench is out of sight. Thank God they still make hammers and chisels.

Rob, the discs are about 150 mm (6 inches). As I mentioned, I`m just a hobby engraver, so I have not sharpen more than maybe 30 gravers. Use the machine only for initial grinding. Doing resharpening and touch up by hand. The diamond discs are so cheap that I can afford to by some new ones if needed. About 5 dollars a piece.
