Watching Roger Bleile get younger before our very eyes and a conversation with Martin Strolz has lead me to post this thread.

It has absolutely nothing to do with engraving at all…………but I thought it may be a bit of fun.

This is Mary and I at the tender age of 18 back in 1976 a year or two before I joined the army…………….back in the good old days when I had hair!!!

So what did you look like back then ???

I was 20 years old in 1973. I had hair and a new banjo!

Great pictures guys.:D

I never did like getting my picture taken back then, so I don't have any pictures to post. Long hair was "in" back in the 60's and 70's and my hair would have made Andrew's look short!

I did not cut my hair throughout High School.

This looks kind of fun. Here's one I had laying on my desk. It's from about 1969. Me the oldest and my two younger brothers. It was from one of those family Christmas cards.

Andrew great hair. If it wasn't for the gray I think I'd grow mine back, what's left of it:(
Sam do you at least still have the Banjo?

Wow, look at that head of hair!!

No, I got rid of that one. It was a low-end Asian import. I still have the one I replaced it with, though.

man sam you really have it out against asian imports dont you *tease

You know, I thought of that when I was writing that post! That banjo was my first (of many) 'lesson learned'. I had to sell that one at a loss and buy a better one.

Weldon: That's an awesome photo!

Fellow dork Sam

Marty,
The fellow was Dale Keeler. He was from Ohio. He came one year to the show we did in Cleveland and then Reno but not after that. I heard he passed away a few years ago.
That could be you in the background. Looks like too much hair even for then however!!! :)

Me and 3 of my most prized possessions back then. I've still got the best looking one.

I'm not sure how far back I should go, but found this picture of me in Mario Abbiatico's first engraving book.
I think the picture is about 1980 or 81.
P.S. just noticed it shows when I was born, no use hiding it anymore.

I was 14 years young when I started engraving in 1972. The other black and white pictures are from the early eighties. The revolver in my right hand tells me that the color-photo must have been taken in 1987.

Here are a couple of me. The first is in youth orchestra (I'm playing the flute) and was 16. The second is in my second year of college in my dorm room (18). The third is my wedding picture, which we refer now to as the baby picture (we were 21). Sorry no old engraving pictures. :)
