Based on the old books I could find I must have tried every formula from the 18th and 19th centuries. All of them from the early 20th. Calcium carbonate to make them white, bone and lamp black (the real deals) to darken. Sam's is the best and all you need is Paypal. I do all my transfers using wax. Never saw the skill in computer generated so have very little experience with that-I am kind of backward in that respect. Fred

I'll throw my 2 cents out there. I've been using beard wax and graphite powder and it works well too. The beard wax I have is thick tacky stuff. Holds an image well. I've also used the sut soot? From a blackening lamp too with success. Good luck!
