Absolutely disgusting subject matter. I've never understood why anyone would want something like that on a gun but, to each his own I guess.

Who was the guy who coined the phrase.."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."?.... Remember, the man did point out "Adult Content.". Welcome to adulthood;~)

You are disturbed by adult content yet you opened it. Why did you do that?

There is adult.......... and then there is pornography and that falls into the pornography department in anyone's books. That in itself is not unusual because there are many pornographic guns and some in royal collections. And I'm not talking your usual nude type scene either.

Having said that, after reading about the original owner of this particular gun, it's not surprising and fits the owner well. Everything about it is crass.

The thing that strikes me is that how poorly it is done. But then again, maybe the engraver of the gun was made an offer he couldn't refuse!!

Cheers

A few years back there was an artist doing a lot of coma sutra type engraving on metal mugs, flasks and the like out of the St Louis area. I can't recall his name though. Interesting but not my cup of tea. The style of this piece in the link has a lot of the characteristics of low cost work of Mexico in my opinion. That and the abundance of gold leads me to believe it was created in that area. Definitely a "shock" piece. Fred

Bad engraving is bad engraving, no matter what the subject matter. As for engravings on knives and guns with this type of theme, you would be suprised how many are being produced.

If this hitman was after me, I'd say to put me out of my misery so I did not have to look at that hideous gun anymore!

I wonder if the thrashing of this engraver would be occurring had he had happened to do a better quality rendition of this engraving using the same themes?

I have seen many examples technically speaking; of inferiorly executed engravings on here that people received many “atta boysâ€￾ for.

Like it or not erotic art has been around since men and women started drawing pictures.

“Disgusting, crass, lacking moralsâ€￾

… guess we all got here by “immaculate conceptionâ€￾

j.c., speaking only for myself, I did not like the engraving as engraving. As far as the subject matter, it is older than all of us, and has been done alot. Sometimes it is done with style, elegance and taste, and sometimes it is done with salacious intent. This appeared to be the latter. As to at-a-boys to poor engraving, I will encourage a new engraver to keep at it because I know that pactice will only improve things, but critical comments when they aren't requested can discourage. We try to uplift more than tear down most of the time.

If the quality of the work and design was a lot better then there would be something to admire, even if the subject matter offends or isn't to one's own personal taste. If the engraving was done well then maybe the reaction would be different........But it isn't, it's just poorly done rubbish with no redeeming features.

To call this art is a stretch. Even to call it erotic art is stretching it. On that basis the random scribbling of a hormonal driven 13 year old would be called art. :)
