Dental burrs can be used to make John B type gravers. I use them most of the time.
Hi Leland
Thank you for using my system,. Dental burrs sure work and glad they are working for you.

But I now make most of my gravers using 1/16" cobalt round stock, soft soldered into the 3/32 inch brass square tubing.
Guess I'm getting old and lazy. Can get longer life and more sharpening's than I can when using burrs.

But some people have access to loads of broken burrs at no cost, and that's the way for them to go.
I did when I taught the classes, but not now.

Take care, stay well.

I asked my dentist for some old burrs she gave me a pound of them, that's a lot of burrs. She was happy someone could use them.

the burrs are also very useful in an air turbine that has an "fg" chuck.
