Show and tell time.
I am curious to see what everyone’s practice plates look like, both beginner and expert. I know that it took awhile for me to even be happy with some scratches, but that’s the point, it all takes time. A goal I’ve added for myself is to have a business card practice plate that shows my skill set. What have you guys got on the block currently?

I don't mind kicking it off...I have no goals yet, other than improving every time I try something. Still having lots of trouble with background removal...depth...shading...so I don't mind at all if I only improve a little at a time. Babysteps...
Anyways, I have these 2 brass plates going. Will be working on em today for a cpl of hours too. 20210531_164037.jpg 20210606_164455.jpg

Its just a basic start…a long way to go. Shading is just the first of many built up layers….. great opportunities to screw it up.
i will be taking progress photos of this to use in my fega seminar in Vegas

Criticism of any kind will always be well received, especially if it helps to improve. Let's hope you don't then...looking good so far.

My projects aren't nearly as good as the ones posted by you guys. So I'm in the fortunate position that it's less important when I do mess it up...which I will...hahaha

Basically i use a 90,105 and a 70 v type graver 45-50 degree face and 10-15 degree heel mostly push gravers sometimes also use a monarch grs hand piece I will go over these in vegas along with Lee during our seminar which was cancelled last year

when i was teaching i would tell my students dont be afraid of mistakes What i now consider a mistake, i would have been thrilled just to be able to do a few years ago. Its all relative so just relax and go it. The world will survive
