The first engraved gun I (be)held was my Father's Charles Daly Superior Grade trap made by B.C. Miroku That started my interest in Engraving. First I studied books and Gun show examples. I met Marty Rabeno when he was still in New York.
I also met John J Adams at a Syracuse Gun show.

Over the span of 20 years I commissioned a few engraving projects. The first two were done for me by Steve Clouser of Sundance Engraving of Reading,Pa. The first was a Stainless Ruger Sp101 the second was a Ruger Single-six.

My next project was a Winchester 9410 done through the Winchester Custom Shop about 3 years before the New Haven, CT was closed. The engraver was Jim O'Reilly

My next engraving commission was a Ruger Vaquero engraved by Heidi Roos at The Ruger Studio of Art and Engraving. This revolver was completed around six months before the Studio was closed. A disturbing trend at the very least.

Winchester 9422M done by Jim Wark of Jim's Guns and Engraving Athens, Pa His Liberty bell I refer to "The Sound of Liberty"

My next engraving was a Winchester 9422M trapper engraved by Tom McArdle of Doug Turnbull Restorations.

My Last Engraving commission was a Winchester 9417 was done by Joe Seeley FEGA and ACGG Walking Liberty is the given name of his project.

In 2012 I attended an NRA Engraving course hosted at Montgomery Community College Instructed by Jesse Houser

Again in 2019 I spent a week at ConnerPrairie.org John Shippers spent Five days refreshing some of what I had learned previously and teaching me new methods for sharpening graver(s) and cutting practice plates.

I spent the last couple of years before retirement setting up an engraving bench and purchasing tools and materials so that I wouldn't be messing with the retirement budget too much.

I can thank my Dad for his role in my distraction.
