I always wanted to become a goldsmith, but chances for an proper apprenticeship in Eastern Germany where slim. Instead I became an electrician and later an electronics engineer. So I choose self-apprenticeship. Some very friendly goldsmithes and jewellers in Germany, Turkey and Tunisia helped directly, and the engravers Café over the internet. Over the last 20 years I kept building up my studio and learning techniques. I started using gravers for stone setting, and now also for jewelry embellishment. I very rarely take comissions, most of my pieces are birthday and christmas gifts for family and friends. And the occasional pair of wedding bands, too.
