Hey John, I’m relatively new to the forum. Could you explain the diamond tapered graver. Also, where can I purchase one and how do you sharpen? Do you sharpen by hand or is there a template? Many Thanks, Jerry
I have never used a microscope, but have tried a pair of loupes. I couldn’t get the hang of the loupes. I guess it was from using an Optivisor from the beginning. All I use now is an Optivisor. Jerry
AJB, from a tool and die back ground I know exactly what you’re talking about in using rendered lard for tapping lube. Works great in tool steels. Jerry
I didn’t exactly know what to title this thread. I was amazed since using my Lindsay BenchJewel that I haven’t had one broken graver point. I didn’t have all that many when chasing. Now, I sharpen when needed. Thanks, Jerry
Allen, I really like the Tap Majic for aluminum. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t have an odor, as strong as the Tap Magic.for steel. Thanks, Jerry
Would like to thank everyone for their help with questions I have had on previous threads. I draw directly on the metal I intend on engraving. What is a good pencil to draw directly onto the metal for a small line that’s dark enough to see. Many Thanks, Jerry
Thanks, in advance. If this is not in the right place, please feel free to move. I recently purchased a Lindsay BenchJewel engraving package and a RioGrande compressor. Other than the regulator that came with the Lindsay hand piece package, do I need additional inline filtration? Regards, Jerry
I recently purchased a Lindsay BenchJewel air graver. I will be cutting mostly in brass, silver, and mild steel. What should my regulator and tank pressure be set at? Thanks, in advance. Jerry
