hi im having difficulty engraving inside some bike rims with clearence issuse and looking for some help on either raising the pitch off a normal graver or going about sharpening a home made curved
I recently acquired a graversmith and a 8ltr bambi from a ceseased estate and never run grs before as using palm control and assumed his set up was dialed in as everything he has was off good quality in his set up .the issue I have found is when using the grs non stop for like yesterday was 4hrs...
What best way to engraving inside a curve like motorbike wheel ect.i have tried lifting the template but still find my hand gets in the way
I know grs do a curved would that be best choice
Also seen lindsey does a negative template but after postage and import duty to UK would cost about £100...
I have a palm control that I do love but I'm going towards more motorbike and car parts and have been advised to get a grs gc720 as the hitting power nothing is as good for this type of engraving .is there many using them on the forum and also do they come up for sale often
Hi is anyone using Linsey type graver for motorbike parts as when cutting aluminium I'm betting quite inconsistent cuts and not smooth .if I turn up the airpresser to around 30 psi can see the impact marks .Ihave tried 120dg 110dg and all been highly polished upto 7000 grit

So I been playing about with an old watch strap and having issues .
What is best bast to have should I use metal to prevent the vibration then put thermoloc ontop
Also should it be curved or flat .
Next is there something that I can reuse of somthing else to make a base with

I'm sure I have seen a pen type holder where you can put different type grit stones I'm the end for shaping and rounding work .
