    Greetings from Croatia

Thank you again for the time you spend explaining these details :) Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i should turn the indexing screws of the smaller templates, not the bigger ones (according to the photo of your templates)? Also, could you remind me one more time, the surface of the...

My ArtGraver is finally home and all set up! Again, big thanks to all who gave me good advice and introduced me to the world of hand engraving! I've made the templates myself, sharpening will be made with diamond sharpening stones 240-2000 grit, and my "vise" is a silk pillowcase filled with...

If i get it right, you have drilled through a brass bolt to make a holder for gravers, and made a thread for a fixing screw on the side of the bolt head?

I guess you have to take care when you cut the rods, not to overheat them? Also, these round 2mm gravers cannot be fixed tight in 4.5mm diameter QC holders without your "beer can invention", or is it something you do just to make sure you have a tight fit?

Which length of the HSS blanks do you get? 2 or 2,5 inch? And where do you order them from? These seem like a good buy: https://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/Catalogue/Cutting-Tools/High-Speed-Steel-Toolbits/HSS-Toolbits---Round-Section

    Greetings from Croatia

I'll see if I'll go looking for a hand piece which holds 6.32 QCs or I'll buy some main lindsay style templates with 4.5 QCs. Anyway, you have been very helpful, along with the whole community. I really appreciate it. Just a few weeks ago, i haven't even heard of this style of engraving (i...

    Greetings from Croatia

Yeah, i'll see if i can find a hand piece that uses 6,32 QC's. Last question for now (i hope): Can the dual angle be used any other way except with the 6,32 QC holder? How is that gray part on the dual angle in which you insert the QC called in english? Maybe it can be replaced to hold the 4,5...

I know most of you are familiar with graver geometry, but this link helped me a lot to visualize all those angles! https://grs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/LIT-Class_Sharpening.pdf

    Greetings from Croatia

You have cleared a lot of my misunderstandings, thank you a lot for your time and effort! Don't know if you have seen the dual angle I have discovered on Ali..? It seems it is made for 6.32mm holders so i should get a few of these for sharpening purposes, and then i can put gravers in 4.5...

Regarding the sharpening fixture: this seems like a good alternative? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001840280086.html

Yes, I realize that now, thanks. I'm at a very early stage of getting to know hand engraving and all the different machines and styles, but i learn new things every day. I have sent a private message to x9abm regarding some of the newer dilemmas I have, but i guess i can post them here as well...

Also, one more question... Do you have the version with the micromotor? If you do, could you please weigh the micromotor tool please. Because I use Dremel for glass engravings, and this could be a good 2in1 option if this tool is significantly lighter than the Dremel. Also, up to how much rpm...

    Greetings from Croatia

Interesting... Didn't stumble upon this one yet. This would be the cheap version of Pulsegraver i presume? It's a bit more expensive, but i don't have to get a compressor which means a lot because i'm doing my work in an apartment. So all in all, you are satisfied with it? Could you post some...

    Greetings from Croatia

Also, i know these replica pneumatic tools aren't as good as the real deal. But also they are several times cheaper than the original GRS and similar equipment, and that means a lot to me because i'm on a limited budget. A lot of this US based equipment is simply too expensive for my Croatian...

Thank you for your comment. I am frequently checking out ebay for any second hand equipment, mainly a dual angle sharpening fixture. Regarding the Europe based shops, I have found some... Has anyone had any experience with them? https://www.davtools.be/ https://www.artsupport.ch/en/shop

    Greetings from Croatia

Yeah, I have seen this. This video Sam made will be my cornerstone for sharpening in the beginning. That "simple graver sharpener" is just something to help me out. Even if it's total rubbish, it's really cheap so it's not much of a waste.

Thank you for your answers. I guess i haven't been specific enough. Since I haven't been in contact with anything similar so far (electric rotary tools are nowhere similar to this technique, I would first like to order some basic equipment. What I have in mind are: - some cut head handles...

Greetings from the sunny Croatia! You may have heard of us as a holiday destination :tiphat: I have been engraving as a hobby for around two years, but mostly with rotary tools. It is a fun hobby with a good earning opportunity. But naturally, lately I have been wanting to expand my portfolio...
