Hello everyone, posted a couple scrim pieces about two months ago (lion and nude). Unfortunately there was a bit of a break in the action for a while, but I'm happy to say I'm back in the saddle and spending as much time at the microscope as I can (also doing a bunch of fine art commissions for Christmas).

I wish I had more to show but here is what I have been up to recently, and there's going to be a lot more in the near future! (the pennies are just for size reference, of course)

This is the most recent piece, a white wolf on an 18x25mm cabochon (pre ban elephant ivory). Will be mounted in the buyer's choice of gold or silver. That background almost drove me crazy. Guess I'd better get used to that! ;)

Right before the wolf, I did this chicken pendant (this is the type of chicken I raise). Another 18x25mm cabochon. Sold within 24 hours of putting it on my website, woo hoo!

And then before that one was another little chicken in a deliberately looser style that I did as a birthday gift for a friend. This is a piece of a piano key "tail."

I'm still tinkering around with working in color. Next up is finishing the lion in color that I started ages ago, and another pendant with a dragon (maybe in color too!).

Whee!

Katherine - WOW, WHAT A TREAT TO SEE YOUR NEW SCRIM WORK!!!! Each piece is just beautiful!! I looove the wolf!! You are so very talented.

I ordered the tool you recommended to me, but haven't had the opportunity to try it. Been busy getting my 'baby' daughter married (this past Saturday the 3rd). Beautiful and very sweet wedding. Hoping to get back to my engraving now.

Thanks so much for sharing! Awesome work!

Katherine, you scrim is just awesome!

Wanna exchange something with my engravings? ;)

I know my engraving is not nearly as good as your scrim, but I thought asking wouldn't hurt and I'd just like to see how it's really done. My scrim looks like cave art compared to yours.

Thank you!! :)

Vilts, that's actually pretty tempting (your engravings are beautiful!) but I can't export the ivory... I'll need to do some work that's not on ivory I guess!

Ha ha, I just ordered some today! In several different colors, oooh this'll be fun. I can hardly wait to try silver ink on black! ;) I think I need more hours in the day!
