Thanks to Carlos's you tube video I learned how to do a parchment paper tranfer.I havent posted anything in a while and I dont remember ever seeing a acetone transfer side by side of a parchment tranfer so heres my result.I never could get a parchment paper tranfer to work before turns out I been using wax paper (I didnt know there was a difference). So thanks Carlos for the video. This is Sams design I used to transfer, hope you dont mind. The one on the left is the parchment tranfer and the right one is the acetone. Both were printed on the same laser printer.
Thanks

Thanks for this one. Nice to see a side by side. I'll most definitely give it a shot. Speaking of transfers, I just came up with an interesting little method for doing multiples of a letter or similar. I'll add a new post with pics when I get them uploaded.

Layne Im looking forward to your post on multi transfers.I transfered this to nickle silver and I like it because it stays visable as my vice turns ,the problem with the acetone transfer is when I turn my vice and the light reflect from differant angles I lose my lines half way through the cut and have to stop and repostion to finish the cut.The darker parchment transfer doesnt seem to disapear from my view due to light reflextion.

I tried and tried to get a acetone transfer to work . I would have some that were very good and plenty that wasn't. I switched to parchment paper and have been happy .

Doug- try an OTT full spectrum light. No glare to fuss with.
Find or make a clamp/clip-on mounting and position to the opposite side of your using hand. Place the light around 10" from your work.
You'll NEVER go back to ring lights.

My only complaint with parchment paper transfer. After printing on parchment I get a ghost image of the last printing on next sheet. I assume that its ink stuck to a roller that makes the transfer. I haven't come up with a good way to clean roller or know which roller that is covered in ink. If im printing something important, I try and run a few blank sheets through to pick up old ink .
