At 2pm on Sunday, the FEGA exhibition closed at this year's convention in Las Vegas.

I have been processing and editing a slide show for you that represents my usual unbalanced look at part of what was on display at the various tables. More time is needed to get the photos in proper order, however it is worth posting on my Picasa page now, meantime just have a look at this rather random order, and trust it will be sorted later.

My warning label is the same as last year, I apologize if you were displaying, and do not see any of your work here, and maybe too much of others. This is unfair, however I could not get around everyone …. I had other things to do, but I tried to do my best in the limited time available. I also tried to delete any photo attempt that downgraded the quality of the object. It would be very nice to have top grade studio quality, instead I present hand held snapshots, with hot lighting overhead that does not favor clear imaging of bulino, and other subtle work, but overall it gives a taste of the show. Our colleague, Sam Welch had a light tent to photograph the prize winners, and, like last year, he graciously allowed me to include these photos in this slide show. How to tell his photos ? If they are evenly lit, and with a reddish simple background, they are probably Sam's. Thank you Sam!

Maybe Roger B may again add some notes as to who is who, so we will bring more order later.

I hope other visitors to this year's Convention share some of their impressions and photos on this thread and how the new venue is working for them?

A huge thank you to all who put in the labor to plan the event, and see to its smooth running this weekend!

Now I must dash down to attend the Monday lectures …

Stunning is all I can say
Except thank you for the time you put in to make up the slide show
There are some great ideas to be gained from looking at all the different styles
Perhaps one day I make it to the show
Cheers

I think Rod took a couple hundred more Pics of our excursion to the strip this evening. A brilliant time was had by all. Thanks for taking the time to do that Rod! Time to tuck in to catch a 7am flight out. My feet couldn't take another day!

Thanks, Fred, good buddy!

Hey, that reminds me, I owe you some CD's, email me your postal address?

...and thank you all for your kind remarks.

I may add into the slide show, some innocent and lighter moments around town, to encourage more family members to come next time.

Layne, with your good company and knowledge of what to see yesterday evening on the main drag, we would have been lost. Enjoyed our music sessions in El Presidente's suite, good fiddle and songs. He was most generous in allowing the wandering musicians to come by and empty his liquor cabinet. I was again impressed with Barry's songs, guitar, and mandolin pickin', Dean's pickin' and songs, Chris Norman's songs and virtuoso wood flute, Roger B's Scots songs, Fred and Judie's playing and harmonizing, and quite a chorus line from all who crammed into the suite on two occasions.

Regarding putting the slide show together, as yet unfinished, I do admit it was a lot of work, especially as I had other important tasks to do, for example, checking up to see how my informal volunteer 'career and job opportunities advice' was working for young school leavers. A quick spot check in the field showed mixed results, right Layne?

It is hard work, but some one has to do this arduous research.

Point taken, Carlos!

Just tell her I was kidding, and in reality I was handing out free Gideon's Bibles with my assistants??

Oh no, now I might be walking on thin ice with my wise cracks, no offense intended.

Rod, I hate to butt in, but it looks like my backside barged into one or two photos. Sorry about that, but it is good to see that I was at least halfway there.

It was great to see and hear from you and all the other FEGA folks. It was a great show and your photos do catch the spirit of the occasion -- Thanks posting these. I assume Sam Welch may have a few more in his camera that could show up here in the near future. Between you and Sam and Roger, the history of FEGA will be well-documented.
