Archangel knife

This is the end of a WIP i posted some days ago,
the theme is Angels & Demons, the main bolster is a multi color inlay of the paint "St. Michael the Archangel" by Guido Reni.
Sorry to post photo of a not complete knife!

Beautiful knife. Thank you for posting it.

I have always been puzzled by Guido Reni's decision to give Michael the Archangel a belly button. Angels are pure spirit, and, not being born of woman, never had an umbilical cord, therefore no navel. Maybe he gave him one to contemplate while guarding the pearly gates.

Thnks Mike! i had the same curiosity! maybe the belly button is only on the armour?..I think we will continue to ask ourselves if the real one is under it! :thinking:
