Benelli Sport II engravability?

has anybody tried cutting the frame of one of these? somebody has inquired about a commemorative inscription...

I have done lettering on a couple of these and the anodized aluminum cuts well.

they're aluminum? i can't find any info on Benelli site, so if they're not bragging about them being stainless steel, i guess they probably are aluminum...
