I have some problem in blacking the engraving .In Sam's tutorial ,the rustoleum flat black enamel paint mentioned, but I can't got this brand of paint in China.I try to use propylene dye.I dilute the dye by add alcohol to it at first, then apply to the cut .By this ,I got an all black surface .When the dye dry,I use a little piece of wood stick to clean the surface ,but either the dye on the surface been clean,or in the cut.

Is there any good choice in blacking the engraving?

Austin, if you would like an alternative to what has been suggested, try SIRCHIE Fingeprint Laboratories, Inc. on the internet. You can get access to this product there. I use it because I like the qualities of the ink and you can use it to make transfers too. they have " improved " it by adding drying agents I think, but a very small amount of vaseline will improve it for engraving purposes (transfers and such), but you don't want to put any in the ink if you are going to use it for blacking background.............Ron S

Yes Austin.
Most any oil based printers ink will work because Speedball may be hard to find in China.
If the brand you buy in China does not dry fast enough for you you can add some Japan dryer to it.
Wear gloves when using the straight Japan dryer and don't get it on your skin.
It can be nasty stuff.
Best regards to you and keep cutting your Zippo lighters.
