Hi forum,

Here's my next engraving project that I humbly present to you and ask your comments about it. Design-wise this is my most complicated design I've done so far and I know this is not error-free, so please tell me what you think should be done differently and what is totally wrong.

Little background too. I'm part-time wedding photographer and I shot this wedding on 18th of August. I really liked the couple, the bride was very beautiful and always smiling. It was a lovely wedding and I'll get quite a few photos for my portfolio, so I thought I make them a little gift and practice my engraving skills at the same time. Today I gave the box with DVDs to the bride and she was thrilled - when client is happy, I'm happy :)

Box was done by my dad. Result is here for you to see.

Viljo

Monk, that is not fair - I've been photographing for 7 years and engraving only 2 months. Either my engraving is really-really good or my photography really-really bad :)

Thanks for kind comments!

GOSH! You've only been engraving for TWO MONTHS! WOW! AWESOME!
I'm sure the couple was absolutely thrilled! What a nice gift.

Vilts,
Keep up the good work. My first engraving project that I did was to engrave for the ushers of my wedding some little allmetal gentlemans folders, I put their initals on them with a little bit of scrollwork. That was 24years ago. If I go back and look at them now, they don't look very good.
The work you've done on this project is much much better. This project should help push you to do more, then try and improve on each piece.
For me it's a never ending thing to make each piece better.

All the best
Rick

That is a nice gift. Aside from the engraving and the nice box to put the pictures in, the thought to do what you did is perhaps of more value to the bride and groom.

I am sure they are very happy with your gift.

Peter
