yes, i see you getting better. your milgrain tool should be run around the very edge- the sharp edge. not on the flat surface. try that. you'll see an immediate improvement in the evenness of your border.

Milligrain tools are made to run along an edge, such as the edge of a ring. When there isn't an edge you can use a pair of closely spaced cuts to make an 'edge'.
