I got tired of practice plates so I cut a few inexpensive knives and they turned out pretty nice. I started on these knives about September to give to a company that gives me a lot of business. learned so much on these knives. Knife choice ,handle material ,layout, borders and design. The anodized Bucks were first and I finished up with the matching 110's for the father and son. The orange buck originally had '' R.B. '' initials but the guy quit so I had to put in his replacements name. The lower Spyderco was filled with Dykem layout fluid and gives it a nice blue chrome look.
I'm not set up to do good photo's yet so I scanned these knives . I covered them with a black cloth before scanning and I think that helped a lot.
Believe me, I see plenty of mistakes in these knives but I think they are good enough to give away.
I don't think I'll plan on doing so many to give away again but I learned the hard way many valuable things. knives.JPG knives1.JPG

engraving on "real things" is a better learning tool than mere practice plates. such prepares one for the stuff you'll soon be confronted with.
