I have a Script font that I like, but I need to not have it slanted to the right. Is it possible in either Corel Draw 8 or Adope Photoshop 5.0 (these are the programs I have) to alter the angle of the letters to become upright (no slant at all) for hand engraving. If so, what program that I have mentioned is good for this and what steps would I do to make this happen.

Hi kelly
In Corel Draw, if you left click the text once you get sizing handles. If you click it again you get rotation and skew handles.

With the skew handles you can slant left or right (top middle handle)

Do not double click the text box because that will put you into text editing. Click once, then click again.

One word of warning....................................

Italicised scripts generally look awful if they are straightened up when using the computer. You would be far better off finding an upright script to begin with.

Cheers

In Photoshop you can select a box around the letter(s) in question and use the Transform or Free Transform functions. Once you do this, you won't be able to double click the text layer for easy editing. Adobe Illustrator may be more convenient here, but I'm not familiar enough with it to be sure.

The CorelDraw CD comes with hundreds, perhaps a couple thousand, fonts. If you still have your original installation CD look through those to find one you like.

Also, you can do a lot with the text manipulation in Corel, including adjusting kerning for individual letters, wrapping text to a path (so it follows a curved, slanted, or undulating path), etc.
