In my quest to try to balance the use of gold on my folding knives I have hatched this idea that when I make a folder and use gold pins and sheild that just a touch of gold in the bolster would better balance the appearance of the knife. Having no knowledge of inlay, but passable skill with the crossed ribbon I thought I would try using gold overlay for the ribbon and just put one crossed ribbon on the bottom of each bolster nearest to the handle material therefore an equal use of gold in the length of the knife. I think I will use Sam's tutorial on gold overlay and try this in the near future. I could use any advice on this that you have to offer. Thanks in advance. Jack Davenport
