Hi I'm making a few cuff bracelets and want to know from someone with experience what a better length is? 5.5" or 6"? I made a 6" mock up out of metal and it seemed too loose without pinching it further shut and deforming the shape of it, and I have skinny wrists so I figured it'd be kind of a good comparison. Thanks!

Perfect custom fit is the circumference of thee wrist minus the diameter at the front to back of the wrist. This allows the bracelet to be slid on from side then turned face up more or less.Plenty of fudge factor on the measurements however, fred

The opening can be quite a bit narrower than a lot of people might think. Here is a video showing how to put one on and take it off again:

I make quite a few and try to make almost half with a 6" length, almost half at 5 1/2" and 1 to 2 at 5- 5 1/4" plus 1 or 2 at 6 1/2 - 7"

I usually have close to 20 in inventory. It always seems that the ones in 5 1/2" are wanted by those needing a 6" and vice versa. I am always ready to offer making any design in any size, including custom designs.

What is your best selling size usually?

Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy! Last summer I had a run on 5 1/2" and 5" bracelets. sometimes it is 6". What is the average size of the women in your area, especially the somewhat affluent ones that have the disposable income to spend $250-$500 on a sterling cuff bracelet?
The reason I have so many is I try to have different sizes and styles and techniques and motifs etc. to choose from. Many times the one that is most liked by an individual is in a different size, width, thickness and so on. Many people (dare I say most) have little imagination today. They see, they like and they buy. Sometimes you get lucky and they order. There's just no way to know.
If you make them 6" with a border and a blank space, often times you can cut 1/4" off each end, not disrupting the actual pattern, and make a 6" into a 5 1/2". It is not too hard, bur is best done back at the shop, taking away the instant gratification. Anything to pique an interest and/or make a sale!

I found petite women need 5.25" - 5.5". 6" is a normal size and I made one once that needed to be 7.25".

I have a set of plain copper bracelet in various lengths I use for fitting.
