How Hard is it?

I just traded a folder for a new Taurus Judge and I'm wanting to engrave it but I was told the steel is hard, Can anyone out there tell me how does it compare to 416SS ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dwayne

I would do a test cut inside or under the grips to see how hard it is and also under the ejection star on the cylinder, Let us know the results. Dave

could you make any test cuts in a hidden place?
i got the same gun for xmas but in blue, shoots great, cann't find a holster anywhere.
