Interesting reference book

I want to thank whoever first mentioned the free samples from Dover Books. I've been receiving them for a few weeks and recently this title caught my eye. It's Karl Blossfeldt's ART FORMS IN THE PLANT WORLD. It's a republication of a 1928 German work. It's 120 pages of close-up photos of plants. Blossfeld was facinated by the "artistic" forms many plants took. Especially, ferns and seed pods etc. He did a lot of early "macro" work and the photos stand up well, even today. The cool part is that many of these plant forms are ripe for an engravers' interpretations! I'm sorry that my scanner is not doing such a great job but hopefully you can get an idea of the book. It's only about $19.00 including shipping directly from Dover Books. I think it's a worthwhile addition to our reference libraries. (IBSN 3-486-24990-5)
