So, since I'm pestering y'all anyway, what kind of tools are used for modeling, like is done on those hobo nickels??

Flats, square gravers, burnishers, dental burs, polishing stones etc

Cody just as Dave says.
The hobo's are usually more like sculpturing or deep relief like a wood carving. A lot of time you have to make a tool to get into certain spots (well I do because I miss place them).
Sometime the carving is bead blasted to give it a struck look.

Cody, Dave counted most of the tools used for modeling, if I add couples more, scraper and chasig tools are working for me.
